Every month we bring you a small round up of some of the coolest events that are happening around the globe so wherever you are in the world, you’ll always have something fun to do.
Torino, Italy: Paratissima 2017
Paratissima is a five-day contemporary art fair and over the four years since it first began it has established itself as one of the leading events in the national art landscape. The fair has sections dedicated to fashion, design, video and photography and there are over 400 artists in attendance. There is also a big emphasis on young artists and curators – young artists have a platform to showcase their work and young curators who graduated from a course earlier in the year are in charge of the curation of a number of the exhibition areas. Paratissima isn’t just about looking at incredible art, it’s a fair that actively encourages people to have fun and get stuck in with the art workshops and sessions, theatre performances and guided art history tours. Here at RED we love a bit of street art and that’s why we love the sound of the ‘Urban’ section which provides a platform for galleries, street artist and members of the public to meet up and share their love for street art. Paratssima is an exciting and interactive fair that opens up the art world to everyone, as well as placing a huge importance on giving emerging aritsts their time to shine and giving them a platform to showcase their work to the public.

Hanoi, Vietnam: Quest Festival Vietnam 2017
Hands up if you want to go to a festival that takes place by two natural landscapes that both feature in ancient Vietnamese legends? Quest Festival takes place right by Dong Mo Lake and has Ba Vi Mountain as its backdrop and has been recognized as one of the most scenic festivals in the world – with a setting like that, we can see why! Quest is a three-day celebration of music and art, with loads of other fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The festival acts as a platform for the emerging musicians of Vietnam and South-East Asia, as well as one or two artists from further afield. Festival attendees have the choice of over 100 emerging local and international music acts across four hand crafted stages and every year Quest has a completely different theme. Quest is a grassroots movement and has no financial backing, instead it’s supported by community engagement and ticket funding. Not only is there a stellar music line up but Quest also has loads of workshops in yoga, craft, meditation, jewelry making, body painting, the list goes on. But if workshops don’t tickle your fancy then there are cinemas that show stimulating films, interactive experiences and visual entertainment or you can take part in water sports, obstacle courses, swimming and hiking – there really is something for EVERYONE.
