Manchester/Edinburgh, UK: Party like Gatsby
It’s time to look our your flapper dresses and top hats as the infamous European party extravaganza ‘Party Like Gatsby’ is coming to the UK. The event, which has toured in previous locations like Hamburg, Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm, takes place in Manchester on 12th November and Edinburgh on 25th November and is set to be an amazing 1920s throwback evening.
Party Like Gatsby is of course based on the literature classic ‘The Great Gatsby’ written by American author F. Scott Fitzgeald in 1925, which has since then been adapted on screen multiple times. Jay Gatsby was well known for his lavish and over the top parties that he threw at his mansion on a weekly basis and event organizers took on this idea of amazing parties in the golden 20s and turned it into reality. Party Like Gatsby is an evening filled with world-class entertainment in the form of burlesque and live music, mesmerizing decorations and roaring 1920s fun. So come on old sport, throw on your best 1920s glad rags and party the night away, Gatsby style.

Since it first began in 2003 The Zagreb Film Festival has been dedicated to the promotion and presentation of film debuts and emerging filmmakers. Each year there are usually three international competition programs, for feature films, short films and documentary films, as well as a short film competition program for Croatian filmmakers. Previous competition entries have seen former first-time directors like Steve McQueen, Xavier Dolan, Jeff Nichols and Cristi Puiu, so it’s a festival that has attracted some pretty big names.
There’s also an industry section dedicated to educational and practical content that host a series of workshops, talks, panels and other events for film professionals, emerging filmmakers and anyone with an interest in different aspects of film production.

We wrote about her way back in December 2015 as one of our ‘5 Music Artists to Watch in 2016’ and she’s finally doing her very own UK tour over the month of November. Essex-born, karate-loving, former West End musical child star (she stared in Whistle Down the Wind age 12) Anne-Marie is one talented lady who has released two awesome tracks, ‘Do It Right’ and ‘Alarm’ so far this year. Anne-Marie’s music is catchy pop, filled with emotion that shows off her amazing vocal talents.
