London: Summer Series at Somerset House
The Summer Series is set in one of London’s most iconic landmarks Somerset House and this year returns for 11 nights in July. This is the perfect opportunity for you to head on down to one of London’s best music events and catch a diverse and exciting range of well known artists, as well as a number of hotly tipped rising stars. Some performances are already sold out but you can still grab tickets for Laura Mvula, Everything Everthing, Hiatus Kaiyote, Courtney Barnett, St Germain and UNKLE:REDUX.

Melbourne: 200 Years of Australian Fashion
This is the last month you can catch the ‘200 Years of Australian Fashion’ exhibition in Melbourne, as its last day is the 31st July. The exhibition features more than 120 works by 90 different designers and beautifully displays the evolution and history of Australian fashion. The exhibition is displayed across four galleries and showcases the work of contemporary designers such as Dion Lee, Ellery, Romance Was Born and Toni Maticevski. Look out for a beautiful blue feathered beaded ball dress by La Petite and a number of avant-garde dresses on a disco dance floor, as well as a tribute to department stores of the past.

Czech Republic: Colours of Ostrava
There certainly isn’t a shortage of awesome music festivals that are held in Europe over the summer and Colours of Ostrava is definitely not one to be missed. The festival is a multi-genre music festival held in the city of Ostrava, transforming the Dolní Vítkovice ironworks into a pretty amazing festival ground. The first festival took place in 2002 and has won numerous festival awards (2005 & 2006 it won the Czech Angle award for music event of the year, and in 2004, 2005 & 2006 it won best music event of the year at the ALMA Akropolis Live Music Awards). There is a hugely varied musical line up, appealing to all musical genres and the festival programme contains more than 300 items of film, concerts, theatre, workshops, discussion that festival attendees can also enjoy over the weekend.

EXIT is a four-day award winning festival, held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Sebria. The festival was founded in 2000 in the university park as a student movement, fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balklans, and today social responsibility is still a huge aspect of the festival. In 2014 it won the title of the ‘Best Major European Festival’ at the EU Festival Awards and considering that year after year they put on an amazing event it’s no wonder they won such a title. Festival attendees can expect to hear some pretty huge acts from the rock, pop and EDM music world.

London: Star Wars Celebration
The most recent Star Wars film may have been released last year but the popularity of the franchise shows no signs of slowing down, and why should it?! The Excel Centre in London will be packed with exhibits, costumes, screenings, panel discussions and lots of other fun Star Wars themed activities and you can even get the chance to grab an autograph from your favorite Star Wars actors in the Autograph Hall. This event is the ultimate celebration of George Lucas’s amazing films, so if you’re a massive fan of Star Wars then this is the perfect event for you, you could almost say it’s out of this world…
