Fashion blogger Paris Hall from You Can Call Me P gives us her top tips for rocking your Christmas party looks this December.

Party season is well and truly upon us and there is simply nothing I love more than getting dressed up for a night on the town with my girls. Christmas is the time of giving, celebrating and in my eyes dressing up to the nines! There’s something about the festive period that always makes me go a little ‘OTT’ when picking my outfits, but in my opinion, it’s only Christmas once a year, so why not wear that gold jumpsuit with a plunging neckline!

When I pick my Christmas party outfit I always make sure it is bold. I like to make a statement when I dress up. My general day to day style can be described as quite quirky and outgoing, therefore, my party outfit always needs to match my confident personality!

However, that being said I know how difficult finding the perfect outfit can be, therefore if you’re struggling for ideas for that upcoming Christmas Bash I’d like to share my three top styling tips for you to use!

Statement Coat

My number one styling tip is to invest in a statement coat like the one I am wearing above. I’m sure I do not have to tell you how cold it gets in December in the UK! There is nothing worse than being on a night out, struggling to get a taxi home in –1°C temperatures, wearing nothing other than that glitzy spaghetti strap dress that you absolutely needed (take it from someone who has been there).

This Pink Faux Fur coat has been my saving grace since it entered my wardrobe a little over a month ago. I have paired it with a dress for date night, flared leather trousers for cocktails and even jeans for a more dressed down look.

A statement coat is a staple for this season and is something that will see you right through into the New Year (and how can we say no when they are so bloody practical!).

Accessorize Well

Accessories truly are a girl’s best friend and they can take an outfit from drab to fab in a matter of seconds! My top tip when it comes to accessories is to pick two items in the same color: whether that is my earrings with my bag, my shoes with my scarf… (and so on and so on). I like doing this because I instantly feel like it makes the outfit come together more effortlessly.

I think small details like this make such a huge difference to any outfit and I instantly feel more feminine when I have my accessories pulled together.

Pick your accessories wisely; earrings have been huge this season, the bigger the better! Think vintage styling with a Pat Butcher twist! I always decide between earrings and a necklace depending on the neckline of the dress or top that I am wearing, and the vision I am aiming for.

In all of the outfits that I have put together for you I have opted for earrings simply because I am currently in the middle of an incredible love affair with them! The high street shops have literally nailed party earrings this season and if you are no stranger to social media you will have seen them plastered all over! (Meaning all you really need to do to nail that on trend party outfit is to buy a statement pair of earrings and the major bases are covered. Simple!).

Metallic Madness!

I love metallic! I simply cannot get enough! Metallic boots? I got them. Metallic bag? check. Metallic makeup? I’m wearing it. You name it, I’m rocking it this party season and you should be too!

The metallic trend has been around now for a while and by the looks of it, it’s here to stay. So if you haven’t already, you should definitely jump on board.  Now it’s not for the faint-hearted, and it can be tricky to work with such bold colors, but when put together well it looks amazing. When wearing metallic, I generally pair it with a more muted color for a subtle take on the trend.

This jumpsuit is the perfect way to ingest gold metallic into an outfit, although quite loud, the faux fur coat and matching accessories pulls the look together making it look elegant and extremely festive.

And there we are! Let’s do a quick round up of my Top 3 Tips of nailing your outfit this party season;

  • Invest in a Statement Coat
  • Accessorize like a pro
  • Go a little Metallic crazy

If you follow these tips you will turn all the heads at your next Christmas Party for sure!

And my final piece of advice; if you like it, wear it! Nothing looks better on a woman than confidence!

Have a beautiful Christmas.

All my love
