On Sunday night one of the biggest events in celeb world took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. This event was of course the 88th Academy Awards, hosted by Chris Rock.

The Academy Awards or The Oscars as it is more commonly known recognizes excellence in cinematic achievements in the United States film industry as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership and it’s pretty much the best award to receive.

Of course all celebrities who attended the ceremony were dressed in their finest attire for the event and ready to walk down the 500ft red carpet, (it beats the Golden Globes’ red carpet, which extends to around 437 feet).

So again we’ve picked some of our favorite dressed celebrities at the event and have spent Monday afternoon dreaming of attending next years ceremony.

Here Come The Girls

Rachel McAdams is making us green with envy (at how amazing she looked obviously) in this August Getty Atelier dress.

Alicia Vikander channeled serious Belle from Disney’s Beauty and The Beast vibes in this stunning yellow embellished Louis Vuitton dress.

Emily Blunt looked pretty in pink wearing this gorgeous embellished Prada dress.

We are such fans of Olivia Wilde’s backless origami style Valentino dress.

Saoirse Ronan wore an amazing sequined custom Calvin Klein Collection dress that was apparently so comfy it felt like she was wearing her sweats!

Priyanka Chopra looked like a vision in white wearing a Zuhair Murad dress and accessorized the outfit with $8 million worth of dazzling jewels too.

Sophie Turner kept things simple but elegant in this pale green Galvan dress and some emerald green drop earrings, the fact that the dress is ethically made makes us love it even more.

Giuliana Rancic looked amazing in this white George Chakra dress with a pretty floral mesh detail at the back.

The Couples

Charlotte Riley and husband Tom Hardy both looked spot on at The Oscar with Tom wearing a three-piece suit and matching aviators and Charlotte wearing a Gauri & Nainika laced gown with a plunging neckline.

We LOVE Kevin Hart’s Dolce and Gabanna embellished trim tux and his fiancé Eniko Parrish looked lovely in Fausto Puglisi.

Isla Fisher wore a pretty off the shoulder Marchesa dress and Sacha Baren Cohen looked smart upon arrival in this black tux, and managed to make a sneaky change into his Ali G costume later on in the ceremony (respect).

Ok so we know they aren’t a couple but they just look so great together. Kate Winslet wore this vinyl like Ralph Lauren dress and Leo looked smart in a black tux, and he FINALLY received his Oscar, YAY, well done Leo!

The Men Who Switched It Up

Of course only Jared Leto could make a flower instead of a bow tie and shoes with snakes on them work as an outfit!

Ryan Seacrest veered from the usual red carpet black tux look and went for a grey suit jacket with black trim lapels and pockets from his namesake line, Ryan Seacrest Distinction.

Eddie Redmayne wore an Alexander McQueen black velvet tuxedo jacket with satin peak lapels and finished off his look with black wool trousers and black slippers, we love the velvet jacket!

Another man taking a break from the traditional black tux, Michael Strahan looked great in this blue tux.

And last but not least, we couldn’t forget Jacob Tremblay because he is just the cutest thing ever in his little Armani suit!
