I’ve spent a lot of time in the last year focusing on my mindset and how I can manifest things into my life. I started blogging nearly a year ago and every single thing that has happened since, I believe I have attracted and worked very hard for. I want to show you the best steps for preparing for a new year and new goals!
Firstly, don’t be under the impression that small goals shouldn’t be celebrated! I hit quite a lot of what I think are small goals over the last year and once I had hit them, I automatically dismissed them and started focusing on another goal. It’s like the finishing line will never end.
I now have a couple of things I have in place for this year and whether you’re a blogger, a brand owner, or simply have personal goals for your day job, hopefully I can give you some inspiration. I mean, I’m no pro but this is something that is working for me. I recently sat down and did a 5 day online course on how to set goals properly and I really wanted to share this with a wider audience. So grab a pen and notepad and take a seat, I have a few questions for you to jot down and answer.
I have learned that you should have outer goals, these being items that you would like to buy. For example one of mine is a Gucci handbag and some Balenciaga trainers.You whole goal list however, shouldn’t be filled with just things you want to buy. Ultimately a Gucci handbag will make me feel great for a brief time when I go and buy it, but if I did something that had a positive emotional effect, I would feel much more rewarded and satisfied. So identify and strive for the materialist goals, but also have some fulfilling goals. How do you want to feel at the end of every day?
Trying to identify your purpose is really important. You need to have a deeper reason to find the motivation to keep going. What gets you fired up? What kind of changes do you want to see? How do you want to be remembered? What kind of people do you want to surround yourself with? What inspires you? Do you put yourself out of your comfort zone enough? Are you often aware of how you’re feeling and what you’re attracting? It’s important to ask yourself, is this action in alignment with my goals? If it doesn’t then don’t entertain the idea, whatever it may be.
I would suggest writing down your goals, gathering photos where you can see them daily, and working hard everyday, and you will see things happen. Avoid the doubt! The thing that helps me the most with overcoming doubt is books. I’ve just bought ‘How to be an Overnight Success’ by Maria Hatzistefanis, the founder of beauty brands Rodial and Nip + Fab. Another thing I find helpful is to practice meditation and yoga to get rid of negative thoughts.
