Last week we hosted our XGames party, in partnership with NEFF, at the RED Minneapolis Hotel. The party was totally off the wall with rocking tunes, an inspiring photo exhibition, funky film preview, great people and a whole lotta fun.
Corey Duffel, pro-skater and music mogul answers our quickfire questions
Hello Corey, for those of our readers who don’t know you tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Corey Duffel. I was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area and is still my home 33 years later. I love skateboarding and I love music.
I turned pro in 2003 and have no X Games gold medals.
When I’m not skateboarding, I am spending time listening to a vinyl with Rachel and our dog, Wrecks.
I like long hikes in the hills at sunset with my hair swaying in the breeze. I really like cantaloupe after brunch. Comics and cartoons bring me happiness, and I wish I was a superhero. I’m pretty much just a dork that likes to laugh and go fast on my skateboard. I’m proof you can be a happy curmudgeon.
Favorite city to skate?
Paris. I always would say San Francisco, but this summer I spent a month in Paris and I fell in love.
Best evade and escape story?
I can’t discuss it because I got away clean
All time favorite trick?
Either one of your own or one of your heroes. Cruising down the street and blasting some ollies.
Can you do a 900 on a vert ramp?
Only in my day dreams!!!
How high can you ollie?
Maybe over 30 tacos, or roughly 40 inches on a good day
