Music We’re Loving – Raleigh Ritchie

Let us introduce you to our current music favorite and hotly tipped rising pop star, Raleigh Ritchie.

Some of you might recognize him from the massive TV show Game of Thrones, where he plays Unsullied soldier Grey Worm, but Raleigh Ritchie (his real name is Jacob Anderson, Ritchie is his stage name) has been pretty busy off screen making and releasing a series of acclaimed EPs, and has recently released his new album ‘You’re a Man Now, Boy’.

Ritchie grew up in Bristol (UK) with a dad who loved reggae and punk, and spent his childhood scouting out music of his own to listen to. Encouraged by a schoolteacher to attend an open audition Ritchie landed a part in Adulthood and met Noel Clarke and Ben Drew AKA Plan B. Plan B encouraged Ritchie to sing one of the songs for the soundtrack for Adulthood and that’s how he met his manager.

Ritchie’s sound is a perfect fusion of modern music; it’s got a bit of soul, R&B, hip-hop, pop and alternative. His music is also great because there’s always a subtle underlying message for the listener to discover once they scratch the surface of the song.

Raleigh Ritchie’s new album ‘You’re a Man Now, Boy’ is out now and don’t even question buying it because you won’t regret (we’ve been listening to it all week)!
