There’s nothing quite like having a sister. She’s someone you can always depend on no matter what, will always give you honest outfit advice and is always someone you’ll be able to share  jokes with that no one else understands for the rest of your life .

Your relationship with your sister may have its fair share of ups and downs, one minute you’re helping each other sneak biscuits from the cupboard behind your parents backs and the next you’re screaming at each other about who gets the TV remote, but no matter what you’ll always have a strong bond.  This sisterly bond is so strong there’s even an official day to celebrate sisters, and that day is today!

So we thought we’d do a round up of some of the best musical sisters for all you sisters to listen to on this special day.

Happy Sister Day!

The Veronicas

Australian identical twin sisters Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso make up The Veronicas and have been making music together since their early teens. The pair rose to fame in 2004 when they signed with a music publisher and soon after released their debut album ‘The Secret Life Of…’. Since then the twins have released two more albums, ‘Hook me Up’ in 2007 and ‘The Veronicas’ in 2014, and we’re sure you’ll remember their extremely catchy international top ten hit ‘Untouched’ (apologies if that’s in your head for the rest of the day but it is very good!)

Dixie Chicks

Sisters Martie and Emily Erwin founded the Dixie Chicks in 1989 and since then they’ve had a number of different members before their current lead singer, Natalie Maines joined. They are the biggest selling female band of all time in the USA with 30 million albums sold and they have also won an impressive 13 Grammys, just shows you what a pair of sisters can do when they’re together! The Dixie Chicks have made an impressive seven studio albums, two compilation albums, one live album and three video albums and are currently on tour this year around the USA.

Haim

Haim is a trio of seriously talented sisters (Danielle, Este and Alana) from California who have been on the music scene for a couple of years now producing some awesome pop-rock music. They first started out as a five-piece band with their parents called ‘Rockinhaim’ but eventually they broke it off with their parents and went on their own way. They’re not short of musical talents as they can all play piano, Danielle can play the guitar and drums and Alana can play the guitar, keyboard and percussion. Haim are also BFFs with Taylor Swift and are pretty stylish when it comes to their outfit choices. Does anyone know how we can be a part of Haim?

First Aid Kit

Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg first rose to fame when they posted a cover of Fleet Foxes ‘Tiger Mountain Peasant Song’ onto YouTube way back in 2008, and ever since then their success has steadily grown. Klara and Johanna’s smooth vocal harmonies on the cover secured their debut album release two years later and the girls have captured the worlds attention with their catchy folk-pop music.

Beyoncé and Solange Knowles

Ok we know the Knowles sisters don’t normally sing together but we couldn’t not include them in our round up. Solange is five years younger than Beyoncé and got her lucky break as a backup dancer for Destiny’s Child, which of course was the band that started off Queen Bey’s untouchable musical journey. Solange not long after followed in her sisters footsteps and started to create some great music of her own and in 2002 Solange released ‘Naïve’ which featured Beyoncé on it too. They even joined forces on stage at Coachella in 2014 with Jay-Z also joining in on the performance. They really are a musical sister force not to be reckoned with.
