Radisson RED Minneapolis has decided for the month of April, in a pilot test, the hotel will be ‘pet only’, taking its pet friendly policies to extremes.

Since the hotel’s opening in November, an extremely high number of guests have checked into the hotel with their pets and an incredible amount of customer feedback has indicated that pet owners would enjoy time at the hotel without them; facilitating a bit of down-time for both pet and owner.

One guest commented, ‘My dog just loves it here – the pet program, which includes a super comfortable Fatboy Doggielounge, is just great. By being able to bring my dog here and let him stay alone means I gain some free time to myself too.”

The ‘pet-only’ policy will apply throughout the month of April. Pets can check-in as they normally would when staying at RED with their owners, receive a RED bandana to keep and a Fatboy Doggielounge bed, food and water dish to use while staying at the hotel. Regular room rates apply and a there is a maximum of two pets per room.

If the initiative proves to be a success the hotel brand is considering introducing more specific pet related services which reportedly includes: a vending machine dispensing bones, a grooming salon, and unique ‘pee-posts’ (in the form fire hydrants, lamp posts and trees) on every floor.

This bold and creative initiative reinforces the RED brand positioning as a hotel influenced by lifestyle and one that is clearly not scared to challenge all the rules.
