Minneapolis loves to shop
While the Mall of America is always eye-popping and definitely worth visiting—with its Nickelodeon Universe theme park, LEGO store and massive Macy’s—there is much, much more to discover in Minneapolis. The city’s fashion scene has swagger and a great mix of independents stores, galleries, bars, and restaurants to explore. Before you go bargain-hunting, here’s our personal shopping guide:
Showcasing the most exciting new Minneapolis designers, Cliché is your first call to see what this city’s wearing right now. Their “designer of the month” project puts the most thrilling new collections front and center in this democratic, chic boutique.
Inspired by the city’s Nordic heritage, Askov stocks its shelves with cool, crisp menswear inspired by Scandinavian fashion. “We balance a respect for tradition with a forward-looking optimism,” they say. They also squeeze in a brilliant cocktail bar too, which we definitely approve of.
Roe Wolfe Boutique
A real one-stop shop for head-to-toe gorgeousness, North Loop’s Roe Wolfe boasts easy-to-wear apparel, accessories, beauty and bath products. It’s kind of addictive too; their in-store makeup consultation is serious retail therapy.
Forage Modern Workshop
Showcasing the Twin Cities’ best creative makers and tomorrow’s top interior stylists, Forage says, “We love the Midwest, and good design.” One look at their carefully selected range of sofas, chairs, lighting and grin-inducing accessories and it’s clear that they really do.
